Charles is the heart and soul of
our place...
He mows, repairs, paints, cleans,
sharpens hoof knives, feeds all the critters, ferries horses around, keeps all
machinery running, and keeps everyone
entertained.
After thirty years in the service
he retired in 1989 as a Command Sergeant Major. He
turned down a position as Post Sergeant Major at Fort
Dix, NJ to enjoy the life as a gentleman farmer at
Horrell Hill.
It didn't quite work out like
that, but he is happy with improving the farm and
keeping everything ship shape.
