Once your horse is
diagnosed with laminitis, founder, navicular syndrome, a
club foot, a splayed foot… in the conventional world the
relief from these conditions is questionable to nil.
At HoofCare Un-Ltd. we
have the experience and trim techniques to alleviate
many of these problems, even in their advanced stages.
The Method
Knowing the anatomy and
function of the hoof is the prerequisite for a
successful trim. Careful analysis and documentation are
provided every step of the way. But trimming is not all
it takes to rehabilitate a compromised horse.
A highly individualized
feeding, detoxification and bodywork program complement
the restoration of a correct hoof form. Horses are
provided for by a dedicated staff and veterinarian. They
are walked according to their individual ability. The
hooves are attended to in many ways. Individual,
extended soaks, soaks with apple cider vinegar,
microorganisms or warm water are applied. They are also
checked daily for imbalances and often re-trimmed every
few days.
The horses are groomed
and bathed regularly .
While recovering they
live in a compatible herd with access free choice of hay
and plenty of shelter . The psychological well-being of
the equines in our care is very important and adds to
the speed of the healing process.
Very sick horses stay
with a compatible friend (never alone) in one of the
extensive rubber footed shelters. We live on the
premises and are always checking on our equine patients.

experience with horses and your horse is most important
to us.
We
accept horses with founder and navicular diagnosis as
well as those with contracted hooves and "mysterious"
lameness

in water daily while they are eating their organic grain
ration, top dressed with a superior mineral supplement
to promote healing

According to their health
status, horses are walked every day (including Sundays)
in our 60' rubber matted walker. This walker allows for
various speeds, which are adjusted to the individual
needs of every horse.
Plenty of shelter with
rubber flooring helps the infirm to live in comfort.

18 acres of pasture are
available for grazing and natural life style. Our
pastures are treated with beneficial microorganisms
instead of toxic fertilizer.
